Quantum diamond elements are created by replacing carbon with nitrogen and removing a neighboring atom, creating a vacancy that suspends a qubit. These particles fluoresce red under predictable conditions, opening the door to spin resonance, magnetic field effects, and other quantum sensing projects.
Note: Although quantum sensing can be quite approachable, ODMR requires light excitation, microwave emission, and optical detection equipment. One open source example of this is Quantum Village's Uncut Gem project (which has been known to give away diamonds for free if you ask nicely).
Guaranteed suitability for ODMR.
We want to make sure you don't get stuck with a poorly behaving diamond. While benchtop sensing results can vary, we want to eliminate the diamond itself as a concern. Although we don't offer refunds, we stand behind the basic ODMR performance of our diamonds. If you believe yours isn't fluorescing adequately, just return it clean and unmounted so we can test it for replacement.
